St. Patrick's Day 2014

St. Patrick's Day is a very festive holiday and is celebrated annually on March 17th. The Irish have observed this religious holiday for thousands of years and our 3rd graders wanted to celebrate it as well. Funny photos, aren't they?

III Concurso de Marcapáginas 2014 "Juan Ramón Jiménez"

2014 is the year to commemorate a very special anniversary: 100 years since "Platero and I" by Juan Ramón Jiménez was first published.

Platero y yo es un clásico de la literatura universal, debido a la gran belleza que supo imprimirle su autor, Premio Nobel de Literatura en 1956.

El libro está dividido en 138 breves capítulos, y es una narración lírica que se vale de la prosa poética pero que también llega a rozar el género del cuento. A medida que transcurren los capítulos, el lector va notando la amistad que el personaje narrador mantiene con Platero, su burro, y en todo momento se nos muestra que ambos cuentan con una sensibilidad muy especial.

Este es un libro que desnuda la belleza que se esconde en lo cotidiano, en las cosas simples que nos rodean. Un libro imprescindible.

Visit to Henchidero Restaurant

On 21st  March, the classroom of 2nd year ESO went to Henchidero’s restaurant. By the way, we saw  Antequera’s river and the green mountains. When we arrived to Henchidero restaurant, we saw an exhibit about the textile industry in Antequera. Firstly, we saw a PowerPoint presentation and then, an exhibition of the different textile machines. It was very interesting! At the end, we ate a delicious Brunch at the restaurant. It was composed by baked beans, sausages, scrambled eggs, bacon and fried mushrooms.

José Luis Fuentes and Andrea López will tell you about the brunch:

-The brunch is a typical British meal  that is usually eaten on Sunday; it combines the breakfast with the lunch. You eat sausage, bacon, baked beans, coffee or juice, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, toast ...

-All in all, the brunch was yummy.

-I especially liked bacon, the scrambled eggs and the sausages because they were well done and tasty.

-However, I didn't really like baked beans because I don't like beans.

-I recommend the restaurant to the general public because the food is different and it is  traditional British food.

After the Brunch we returned to the school crossing one of the most famous bridges in Antequera. It doesn’t go anywhere, but they built it. (!!) We had a brilliant time.
